ee cummings

Does this not perfectly sum up spring?

in Just –
spring when the world is mud-
luscious the little
lame balloonman

whistles far and wee

and eddieandbill come
running from mables and
piracies and it’s
spring

when the world is puddle-wonderful
the queer
old balloonman whistles
far and wee
and betyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scothc and jump-rope and

it’s
spring
and
the

goat-footed

balloonMan whistles
far
and
wee

*** What’s great about typing an ee cummings poem on Microsoft Word is watching the green and run lines go wild as the software screams out all of the typos and incorrect capitalizations and other gibberish.

Now that sounds like a great idea for a cummings-esque poem! Hmmmh, I’ve always wanted to try and submit a poem to the English Journal . . . maybe . . . weeeeee.

You should do it.
While inspired, write.
And celebrate the green and red squiggles.
