Great end to the day

As I was digging through a drawer in search of a great sonnet a former student had written, I noticed a little boy pop his head into my room. He looked to be around four or five. I said howdy, but he just looked around my room.

Soon he began pointing to a poster on my desk - it was given to me by one of my College Comp students - of Hellboy (a cartong / graphic novel character who is a demon from hell but who ends up fighting for the side of good. The author uses Hellboy as a way to introduce his readers to various myths from around the world).

The boy said proudly, "I've seen that video."

"Cool. Did you like it?" I asked quite envious - I haven't seen it yet. "I have a larger version of him up there," I said - pointing to a high shelf in my room.

"Oh yeah," the boy said, "That Yoda and Boba Fett! I have that movie."

Before we could get into a good conversation, his grandmother came in. She is our principal's secretary. She rounded her grandson up and headed home for the afternoon. I told him he could come back any time.
