Things are really in motion now for the wedding. Last Thursday Kristie went to Fargo with her mother and her best friend to look for dresses. To everyone's delight, she found one. She says it's perfect, and I'll take her word for it, for her sense of style is much better than mine. Oddly enough one of the accent colors in it is peridot, which happens to be my birthstone. Kristie was unaware of that. Funny how it turned out.
She showed me some pictures of a few of the dresses that she ruled out. And if she can look amazing in the dresses she didn't like (she wouldn't let me post any of the pictures), she will look absolutley stunning in the dress she finally chose.
That same night I came up with the first two lines of my vows. I can feel the rest coming together in my head
Then on Saturday we got the tuxes taken care of.
Tonight Kristie will work on sending out the menus and some other technicalities.
Unfortunately, the only thing that hasn't gone smoothly has been the situation between Kristie father and mother. They have been divorced for nearly two decades, but there are still some hard feelings from Theola's funeral this winter. It's too bad they can't put aside their differences for our wedding. Kristie was hoping to have one day where we all could be together. I'm the eternal optimist, so I'm sure it will all work out.
