Teaching Tip #45

Teacherscribe’s Teaching Tip #45

Here is a blog post with a title that I just couldn’t resist clicking on:  9 Elephants in the (Class)Room That Should “Unsettle” Us by one of my favorite people in education, Will Richardson.

Elephant #9 – And finally, we know that learning that sticks is usually learned informally, that explicit knowledge accounts for very little of our success in most professions.

Very true.  This is one reason I can rattle of draft classes and how many yards a certain quarterback passed for a decade ago.  Or why I can rattle of song titles and album release dates.

I never took a class in any of those, yet I have “learned” them.  How can we make learning more information.
