Teacherscribe’s Teaching Tip #39
Here is a blog post with a title that I just couldn’t resist clicking on: 9 Elephants in the (Class)Room That Should “Unsettle” Us by one of my favorite people in education, Will Richardson.
Elephant #3 – We know that deep, lasting learning requires conditions that schools and classrooms simply were not built for.
Why can’t we change this? I am glad, though, that we at LHS are trying to change this. Many of our students are out doing internships and work experience.
Still, when I’m seen as a rebel for taking my class to a coffee shop for a free reading day, what hope do we have to step outside of our comfort zones to offer new conditions for students to learn?
