Amazing Photos

I came across this on Twitter, @AbandonedPics.  I don't know exactly what it is about these photos that amazes me, but they are beautiful and haunting - all at the same time.

It is a great reminder to us that the marks we leave on earth - and the things we thing are so creative and significant and important - really pale in comparison to what nature can do.

What a job it would be to locate these places and then stage them to capture them properly.

For an English teacher I think the potential for using some of these images as writing prompts is endless.

The following are the creepiest ones I could find.  These are right out of a work by Stephen King or Ramsey Campbell.
