I found this article from the NY Times on the pressures of testing, especially when the final test score dictates where you will attend college, in China very interesting.
And I have to wonder if - give our passion for high stakes testing at the high school level - the ed reformers would be happy if this was happening here?
I sure hope not.
What I love about our systems of colleges in America is the variety. So you don't get in to Harvard. Then there are excellent state and private colleges to enroll in. If not, there are tech schools and community colleges you could attend. Here is an interesting story about this.
