When he did this, one of his own workers responded by sending him a letter that contained the Pledge of Allegiance in its entirety. And it had the word "indivisible' underlined three times.
Now, he has written an open letter to the American people asking this key question: How Can American Win the Next Election?
If all our parties are going to do is please their special interests and undo each other's work, then America will not win in the next election, regardless of which party comes out on top.
And I don't think he's wrong. At least he's starting to have a real conversation. Not a shouting match.
He is taking the conversation to the people, via Twitter and the Starbucks website, with the hashtage #indivisble.
Just for the record, indivisible means unable to be divided or separated: privilege was indivisible from responsibility.
• (of a number) unable to be divided by another number exactly without leaving a remainder.
I think both parties have forgotten that meaning. It seems all they want to do is rip and tear and undo.
