Breakfast Tacos?

What?

Yes.  They don't sound too appetizing do they?

You see Kenzie is not a big breakfast eater.  So when I was getting her dressed this morning, I asked her the routine question, "honey, what would you like for breakfast?"

"Nothing," was her traditional response.

"Oh, come on," I said.  "What do you want?"

Then I offered some suggestions . . . toast, eggs, yogurt, cereal . . .

"Pizza!" Kenzie finally decided.

"No, silly.  You can't have pizza for breakfast.  How about . . ." and I went through the usual list of breakfast foods.

"Toast?"

"No!"

"Apple Jacks?"

"No!"

"A banana?"

"No!"

"Oatmeal?"

"No!"

"Fruity Pebbles?"

"No!"

Finally, just to test her I thought I'd slip in . . . "Tacos?"

Kenzie stopped.  Smiled and declared "Yes!"

I was caught.

"I want tacos for breakfast."

Now what was I supposed to do?

So I took her into the kitchen and got out the bread.  "Now dear," I said. "Do you like jelly with your breakfast tacos?"

Kenz wasn't too sure.

Luckily KoKo walked in and I asked her what she liked with her breakfast tacos and shot her a look that said "Just Play Along!"

KoKo stated that she liked peanut butter on hers.

So it was finally decided that Kenz would have peanut butter and jelly on her breakfast tacos.

When the toast finally popped up, I put the peanut butter and jelly on, cut the piece in half and laid on piece on top of the other.

"Here you go!" I said serving Kenz her breakfast taco.

"Hey, that's not a taco," she declared.

"It's a breakfast taco," I said and handed her the two slices on top of one another.  "See," I tried, "the bread is the shell and the peanut butter and jelly is in between."

It worked!  She took several bites and declared that she loved her breakfast tacos.

I wonder what's on the menu for tomorrow morning?
