It is unsettling that so little shock, disgust, horror was expressed in reaction to this story. Are kids innured to horror these days? I remember the first time I read "The Lottery," and how I wrestled with it and its message for several nights thereafter. However, I do realize these are little electronic bits so may not reflect their real and private reaction to the story.I congratulate you on a good choice for a pre-college course.
