Daddy

Kenzie has a new weapon.

Last night around 3 a.m. she began whimpering and crying.

When this happens, I usually just roll over, glance at the clock, and give her ten minutes to fall back asleep. If she continues to fuss, I'll get up and go downstairs with her for a bit. That usually means a diaper change, a bottle, and the rocking chair.

But last night as soon as I rolled over and glanced at the clock, Kenzie indeed stopped whimpering. Instead of crying or fussing, she called out loud and clear, "Daddy!"

I thought it was a fluke or I just imagined it. But soon came the call, "Daddy!"

Kristie began chuckling and I said, "Well, how can I resist that."
