In honor of David Letterman, here's ten reason the 'boys should beat the Vikes.
10. Come on. It's the playoffs. Remember all those stinkers the Vikings have laid over the years this time of the year.
9. Felix Jones and Marion Barber. Jones can score from anywhere on the field. He could rush for 125 yards on five carries. Barber - well acquainted with the dome - can pound the ball all day long.
8. The Vikings secondary. Winfield is a hitter. But can he cover? Remember OT against the bears when a seventh round draft choice beat him up and down the field?
7. The ghost of Drew Pearson. Can the Vikes make a play when they need it?
6. The Vikings offensive line - which has been offensive all year. Can they handle Demarcus Ware and Jay Ratliff and the other Cowboys? If the Cardinals and Panthers and Bears ate them alive, what will the Cowboys do?
5. The Cowboys won't blink. A month ago they had to go to New Orleans and win. New Orleans still had everything to play for with home field advantage now sewn up yet. And the Cowboys dominated them. Their offense reminds me a bit of the Cardinals. They can be up 20 points real quick if you aren't careful.
4. The Cowboys are red hot. This will easily be the best team the Vikes have faced all year. They've gotten lucky in the dome twice this year - pulling out last second wins over the 49ers and Ravens - but the 'boys are the most complete team they'll face. They have a great defense that can both cover and rush the passer. Romo is red hot. They have enough fire power on offense to keep pace with the Vikings if needed.
3. Fumbilia Peterson. You just know in a crucial point in the game, butterfingers will cough it up. Remember OT in the Bears game?
2. Jason Witton. The best tight end in football. In their losses, tight ends have just killed the Vikings. Look for Romo to find Witton often.
1. Brett Favre. After watching him for several years, he is doing his best Joe Montana (the GREATEST QB ever) impression. But if you have watched Favre at all over the past 50 years (or however long Methuselah has been playing) you know he has the one egg waiting to be laid. Three years ago it was when he had the Pack poised to pull the upset of all time against the undefeated Pats. All he had to do was beat the battle weary wild-card Giants. But - in typical Favre fashion - his last pass as a Packer ended up sealing the win for - you guessed it - the Giants! He has been great in the dome this year, but how long can that last? Hopefully for about one quarter (and hopefully it will be the first quarter and not the fourth quarter on Sunday!).
