Thursday

Hapy birthday to Sharon today!

****

After today we only have three more sessions of the RRVWP. Today is author's chair. Everyone takes a turn reading something they have written. I'm not sure yet what to read. I have several selections ready. I'll see what others read.

Well, Kristie has begun blogging fairly regularly. It has given me a complex. We both blogged about our bats. Yet, her entry was much livelier (and funnier) than mine. The same holds true for our paint ball experience. So now as I write, I have this voice in my head whispering, Kristie would be funnier, Kristie would use a better simile or fancier word, Kristie would use a stronger image, Kristie would proof more carefully (I can live with this because outside of a quick spellcheck, I don't proof these).

Hopefully, this will make me a better blogger/writer and not a reluctant one. Either way I am now addicted to her blog!

Kristie has a new job opportunity. A former work mate called her and mentioned that the elementary school where we live is in need of a media specialist for about 25-30 hours a week. Hopefully, she will be able to also take some classes at UND too.
The odd thing was that when this was going on, I was visiting with the head of the English Dept at UND - who knows both Kristie and me - and she was talking about getting Kristie back to UND and getting her degree done.

Kurt,

I enjoy reading your blog as much as Kristie, you are too hard on yourself. It is also cool getting it from both perspectives.

Take care,
Trish

Please don't ever doubt your voice in your blog entries. You have wit, poignancy, and heart and it comes through in your writing.

We all have different styles, and yes we can try to emulate other styles but never at the sake of losing our own.

Your posts have caused me to laugh, to cry, and feel every emotion in between.

You are thoroughly interesting. Why do you think so many people read what you have to say? I for one feel very disappointed when I go to teacherscribe and there isn't a new post to read.

Keep 'em coming. You're entertaining as hell!
