It is the second to last Thursday of the quarter. Next Thursday will be the end of the quarter. What I dislike about this is that I likely won't see my Composition students again until next year - if I get to have them in class at all. In some cases, I'm glad to get rid of my classes after nine weeks, but that is not true this year. It feels like I'm just getting to know them now. My first hour class is finally letting its guard down and cracking a few smiles here and there and opening up to me now and there are only five days left.
Since we are up for curriculum cycle this year, we are looking at junking our current format (English courses divided into American Lit, Brit Lit, Applied Comm, Speech, Comp II, and so on). Instead we'd switch to Junior and Senior English (basically combining American Lit/Brit Lit, Comp, and Speech) into a semester long class. I hope this goes through. I'm not ready to be done with these classes yet.
