Linchpins

Seth Godin must love this story - these nurses rescued 20 babies, carrying them down flights of stairs in the dark.  One nurse, pictured in the story, even manually helped one baby breathe as they walked down 9 flights of stairs.

That's remarkable.  Those nurses are linchpins.  That's going above and beyond.

Who wouldn't do that, you ask?

Well, my father's cancer doctor couldn't muster up the courage to tell my father there was nothing else they could do for him and that he wasn't going to die.

Instead the coward never returned phone calls and hid.

That's not going above and beyond.  That going under and around.
