I have been fortunate enough to spend a bulk of my summer home with my kids. Here are some of the best one liners that my four year old (well, almost four years old) has tried out on me.
We were cuddling on the recliner one day and I asked her - rhetorically - "Why do I love you so much?"
But Kenz is not one to not answer a question, even if it doesn't have an answer. She smiled and said, "Because I'm so pretty."
May she always have such confidence.
But a little while later I tried the same question out on her. This time she had an even better response:
"Hmmmm. Because you're my whole heart!"
That's my girl!
Now that we have seen Pixar's The Incredibles several times, she has started using the lines from the film. She was looking for her Spiderman costume the other day when she said, "Where is my Super-Suit? Where is my Super-Suit? I'm talking about the greater good here, woman!" She was quoting Frozone from the film.
Then one night she snuck downstairs, even though she was to go to bed upstairs, and sheepishly asked if we could watch a little bit of The Incredibles before bed.
When I said yes, she hugged me and said, "Dad, you're better than Mr. Incredible."
Oh that little one. How she has her dad wrapped around her finger! What's it going to be like when she is 16???
And then recently we were sitting outside on one of those humid days where it's barely 8 am and it already feels like it's 90 degrees. Kenzie was perched in a lawn chair when she asked, "Dad can we eat breakfast outside."
Now that's not such an unusual request. But the reason she gave was quite interesting.
"Why?" I asked.
And without missing a beat, Kenz said, "Because I'm chill-axing."

You forgot my recent favorite. Her dad wanted Kenzie to do something and she asked why she had to. I said, "Becuase he's the boss." And she replies, "Yep" then pauses a beat and says, "Well, actually Mom, you're the boss!"
Now that's MY girl!!
