The other day I was in the basement and heard an odd chirping coming from the chimney. Being an animal lover, I thought a bird had become trapped or maybe even a squirrel.
So I grabbed a pair of gloves and a flashlight and opened up the little drawer at the bottom of our chimney.
That's when it hit me - no not a bird or squirrel, but the noise of baby bats.
Three summers ago we had them roost in our chimney. Now they're back again.
