For the past two days I’ve had a student teacher observing a couple of my classes. Oddly enough he was talking to his cooperating teacher this morning who told him that he’d get a vocabulary lesson in my class today. The cooperating teacher bet that I’d use the word ‘facetious’ at least twice. Then another teacher who was in the lounge listening in said, “Yeah, he’ll probably use a word like vicarious or something.”
Oddly enough, I used facetious twice, and I even used vicarious! The latter was referencing to how Boo must experience the outside world from his window as he is locked in his house.
The student teacher had some insightful things to say. He also said that one math teacher he observed was absolutely phenomenal. The student teacher could not get over how under control the math teacher had his class and how he knew everything that was going on (sadly, the same is not true for me). But knowing the math teacher, I am not surprised in the least by the high praise for his work.
