NFL draft 2018

Well, the first round of the NFL draft has come and gone.

The Bengals took the expected position of greatest need, center.  The person they took was not the one I envisioned though.  I thought they'd pull a shocker and grab Frank Ragnow, center out of Arkansas, in the first round.  But Detroit drafted him one pick before Cincy.

That might turn out to be for the best anyway, as Cincy drafted the hometown stud, Billy Price, Center out of Ohio State.  You want a leader, Price was a two time captain at Ohio State.  He started 55 games, at both guard and center.  He is going to anchor their line from now on.  For once, well, since they drafted Kevin Zeitler in 2012, they are going to have a first round pick come in and start right away.

Now the question is how will they draft in the second and third rounds.  Here are a few of the players I hope are still there when Cincy picks.

1. Will Hernandez (guard).  He'd be a road grader at right guard for Cincy next year.  Joe Mixon would be smiling.

2.  Harold Landy (OLB/DE).  He could be a great pass rusher for Cincy.

3.  Justin Reid (safety).  Cincy has been in the market to upgrade their safeties.

4.  Uchenna Nwoso (OLB/DE).  He's this year's version of Carl Lawson.  Would help out the pass rusher.

5.  Connor Williams (OT/G).  He was considered a top ten OL but he has fallen.  Might be the next best option for Cincy at guard if Hernadez is gone.

6.  Orlando Brown (OT).  Might make the best sense in the third round given his horrendous combine performance, but he could be the second coming of Andre Smith at right tackle.

7.  Maurice Hurst (DT).  He'd be a great compliment to Geno at DT.

8.  Mark Andrews (TE).  I have zero confidence that Tyler Eifert will make it through the year healthy, and I daub that Tyler Kroft will fully replace him.  Andrews is a great project.

9.  Josh Jackson/Donte Jackson/Isiah Oliver/ Cincy loves their corners, and they are still looking to replace Adam Jones, especially as a returner.

This is the my favorite part of the draft.  There is just so much talent still left on the board.  Who Dey!!!
