Teaching Tip #25
Be a laser instead of a lighthouse.
What?
Keeping with Todd Henry’s metaphor, if the lighthouse
represents thinking that is for the most part negative and warning you to keep
away, then a laser has to represent the mindset that is focused and cuts
through the clutter.
So when you have a new idea, stay focused on what it takes
to make the idea happen and cut through all the clutter of why it might not
work or why you shouldn’t try it. Your
kids deserve that kind of thinking.
