For as much as I love Alfie Kohn, I also love someone who is close to his polar opposite (favors high stakes testing, charter advocate, fan of more traditional classroom approaches) is Geoffrey Canada. In a very entertaining TED Talk, Canada outlines what angers him most about public education.
I think he hits the nail on the head every time.
