Here is a very interesting read from one of my favorite bloggers (Life of an Educator) - 10 Pieces of Advice for new Teachers.
Here are the ten pieces of advice -
2. Find time to go observe other teachers.
Mr. Soine, the principal who hired me, encouraged me to do this during my student teaching phase at Lincoln, but I never took him up on it.
And I so regret it now.
I wish we had some professional development time allotted to where we could just take one day per quarter to observe whatever teachers we wanted.
As the folks at the Red River Valley Writing Project always professed: teachers learn best when teachers teach teachers.
