where constant 24/7 news surveillance is the standard, would a story as insignificant as the Colts owner, Jim Irsay, saying that he is disappointed that he didn't win more than one championship with Peyton Manning be news.
Who cares?
The government is shut down. The nuts on the left don't want to get serious about government spending and working with the moderate conservatives. The nuts on the right think our president is Muslim and hope the end times are here so they can see the rapture.
Good God man! We have larger issues to deal with!
Who cares about something an owner said about one of his former players.
Brady has three rings and Big Ben has two. Even, gulp, Peyton's little brother has two rings. Irsay should be upset that he only won one! I think Peyton would attest to that fact.
Next to Montana, Peyton is the greatest QB ever. But he hasn't been as outstanding in the post season (see losses to the Steelers, Patriots, Chargers, and even last year when he was with the Broncos, to the Ravens as proof).
Even in the NFL, this shouldn't be a story. Look at better stories like Denver being 6-0 and the Chiefs, the Chiefs!, being 6-0. Look at the concussion issues. Look at the Schiano debacle out in Tampa. Look anywhere other than some trivial comment by an owner.
But now it's a "big breaking story."
Only in a world where 24/7 sports where reporters have to have something, even if it's really nothing, to report to their networks would this be a story.
