The entire upstairs is coming a long very nicely. The new paint looks great. The new lower ceilings are also wonderful. I do miss some of the murals that our Magnet Arts students put on various walls, I really wish there would have been a way to preserve them. But that's the price of renovation I guess.
I'm going to miss my old door with the decals on it, but my new door is beautiful and the entire upstairs - actually the entire school - has a very uniform look now.
Old (cluttered) bulletin board. But what personality.
I love the new cabinets and carpet. But my bulletin board needs work! And where am I going to put all my stuff?
The new door looks great.
Glad to have my SMART board back up. Glad they didn't mess with my quotes. My Farside cartoon is still intact, but I'm going to need a new Calvin and Hobbes.
A view of my room from the windows. Since there is no room around the windows for art, I'm going to have to squeeze it in by the whiteboard.
I can't believe they just boarded up over the large frames for the original windows.
While I've lost space for my artwork, the windows are worth it.
The shades that are up don't look to offer much in the way of shade. But given how great these windows look, I don't care if I can ever show a damn video again! Anyway, since most of my videos have been converted to digital files, I can just pass around a couple of flash drives and have the students download them to their laptops and watch them individually.
Then I can just watch key scenes with the entire class. If necessary.
And the new cabinets looks great. The new lights are great too. I just wish I could put in an espresso bar.
