A Major Rite of Passage

Yesterday Kenzie, Cash, and I put together our first Lego set, The Werewolf playset from Lego's line of Monster Fighters.

It's part Indian Jones, part classic Horror film, with a little bit of Albert and Costello thrown in.  Here's the trailer for the toy line.

"Where mortals and mifigures are most unwelcome!"  Ha ha.  Brilliant.  I love it.

Kenz was quite adept at putting the mini figures together.  Cash was great at testing them out after they were constructed to make sure they were worthy of playing with.  They were.

Kenz also was great at separating the pieces by color (a must for any serious Lego builder) and for retrieving tiny pieces from under the dining room table once Cash lost them.

The only tricky part will be trying to get the set to school.  Kenzie and Cash are quite enamored with it, even though they both chose to get different toys at Target on Saturday while I found this set on clearance!  I know, I know.  Who's the kid, right?

Even a quick trip to Mr. Movies to return some DVDs warranted some crying and fighting until it was finally decided that Cash would bring the werewolf and Kenz could bring the werewolf hunter (Major Quinton Steele).

Cash even wanted to sleep with his minifigure (because the werewolf's claws are glow in the dark).  That's my boy!
