Summer

I'm two days in at the ALC, and all is going well.  I think it's the change in venue.  Not that I dislike teaching up at the ALC building, but there is something about the students sitting at tables in their normal surroundings that make teaching there a bit more challenging.

So far the students have been in a totally different environment, and it's been great.

It's still not the same as my usual routine at school, but, then again, it's not supposed to be.  And I'm fine with that.  But there are some sessions when it's absolutely like pulling teeth to get any work out of the kids.  Not so far.  And I'm happy about that.

I joked that summer was over for me since the first of two summer school sessions has started.  And that's partly true.

While autumn is by far my favorite time of the year, there is just something awesome about being able to step outside to chain Kozy up at 6 am and not need to be a coat on.

I love not having to wear a watch and just toss a T-shirt on with a pair of khaki shorts, step into a pair of flip-flops and head out the door.

Somethings never change though: even though I could sleep in (and would really love to), I'm still wide awake every morning by no later than 5:26.

But I've become a morning person anyway, so it's really not that bad.  Now if the mosquitoes would just die off, I'd have it made this summer!
