Now that I've finally gotten the website to work . . . well, "work" is not really the verb I'd use since it only "works" once about every five times I try it (the other times the website is unresponsive or locks up or kicks me out) . . . but I have had some fun with it.
I could see this being used in schools quite a bit. That is if the site ever gets the kinks worked out.
Here are a number of ways to use it -
First, students could use it as a "get to know me assignment." Students could upload an image of themselves and then words or an essay that describes them.
Second, students could upload an image of their favorite author (I saw someone uploaded a picture of Edgar Allan Poe) and then paste in text about the author (biographical information, a book report or literary analysis, or even snippets of their work).
Third, students could use it in history classes where they upload a picture of a historical figure (Martin Luther King Jr, Sally Ride, Steve Jobs, Louis Armstrong, Napoleon, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, Princess Diana, and so on) and then paste in information about that figure.
Fourth, students could upload pictures of their favorite works of art and then paste in information analyzing or describing it.
And these are all off the top of my head. But this is a pretty cool website. I just wished it worked reliably.
Here are a few of my new creations -
