Game Observations

The Bengals are ahead right now (for now), but they are squandering this game away, which is par for the course for the Bengals this season.

First, they have a holding penalty on a huge punt return by Adam Jones.

Second, they blow a coverage and give up a 60 yard touchdown after forging a 10-0 lead.

Third, they fail to do anything before half, despite two time outs.

Fourth, Dalton throws an INT on his first pass of the second half.

Fifth, AJ Green drops a huge pass and then fails to get his foot in bounds on a 4th and 22 play that would have given the Bungals a first and goal.

The culprits - AJ Green and Dalton.  AJ Green should be feasting on this depleted Pittsburgh secondary, but he isn't.  Worse yet, Dalton.  He can't pre-read a defense to save his soul.  He has poor pocket awareness, taking needless sacks or throwing it away and resulting in an intentional grounding penalty that took them out of FG range.

Luckily, the Bengals have a very good defensive line and they are able to keep pressure on Big Ben and keep the Bungles in it.  But until Dalton puts a decent drive together, Pitt will pull this game out in the fourth quarter.
