Mother's Day

What a great Mother's Day. We were lucky enough to have all of our kids home for the day. Cash and Kenzie were first on the scene as they both woke up bright and early. As Cash began to cry, I thought all children should come with snooze buttons. Especially on the weekend!

Casey was the next to show up, traveling from his apartment in GF. Then KoKo came down and Grandma Gail arrived from Mayville and we were all set.

We asked Kristie what she wanted to do. Since we spent Saturday cleaning up the yard and cleaning out the garage, we were set to have a relaxing Sunday and just visit. However, as soon as Casey showed up, we went outside to the patio.

No sooner did we set foot outside than Kristie said, "Why don't we get the power washer hooked up and hose off these leaves." Before long Kristie was cleaning off the patio and Casey was cutting down dead branches from the oak trees in the back yard. So much for a relaxing Mother's Day.

But that's Kristie for you. Work, work, work. She did relent, though, before too long and we spent some time playing Sorry on the deck.

But before long Kristie was back at it making Enchiladas for supper and cleaning up the kitchen. I swear, if I could just bottle an ounce of her work ethic, my grades and lesson plans would never be behind!

Things did settle down in the evening as Cash and Kenzie both fell asleep and we sat around the living room watching Men in Black 2 on TV and visiting. It seems as the older we get and our family gets more spread out, we are just thankful to have everyone together, regardless of what we do.
