Talk about being in your element

Last summer my mother in law took this picture of our kids.  For some time we've talked about doing the traditional 'family picture,' but we have not gotten to it.

So I was wowed by this rather spontaneous picture that she took when I finally saw it.  I think it's better than any formal picture we could have planned.

This Christmas I thought how original it would be to have one of my former students, the remarkably talented Tracy Mehrkens, do a drawing of the picture and then frame it.

I know Tracey is talented.  But the final product was far more amazing than I ever hoped for.

Talk about a student who has found their element.
