For the past couple of blog entries, I've tweeted the links to my 80 some followers. Since I've done that, I've had people from Madrid, Troy (NY), Oxford, Melbourne, Barcelona, Auckland, Lugo, Den Burg, Seattle, and Las Palmas land on my blog. All arrived from the link on Twitter.
Just imagine if we had students keep blogs that either illustrated their class work (such as art work, essays, or projects. Here is one example) or illustrated how they took the boring material from the book and made it more engaging (here is one example). What kind of real world feedback would they receive?
Imagine have a chemistry class interacting via Twitter with real chemists working in industries or research universities across the globe? Don't think it can happen?
I didn't think someone from Madrid or Barcelona would read one of my blog entries either.
That's the beauty of a flat world. Maybe if Phylis (see my previous entry) ever gets a Twitter account (I've tried to find her), we could actually engage in a discussion of our differences.l
