Speaking of Curiosity . . .

the Discovery Channel has a new series called "Curiosity" in which viewers send in questions and the show features multi-media responses to them.

Talk about 21st century education.

Here is one sample definition from one of Discovery's "experts" (culled from all different types of fields and areas).

Here is another take on it.

The official web site is here.

The sample questions look great: "Did God Create the Universe?" "Alien Invasion: Are We Ready?" "Are We Too Satisfied with Too Little Information?" and many more.

Now I'm sure that initial question will have the Phylis Schlafly's of the world decrying that this show is certainly a God-less, liberal, indoctrination of our youth that is secretly designed to produce more liberals.  However, aren't we all curious about that?  Aren't we all curious if we are alone in the universe? Aren't we all curious about the world we live in and all of its dimensions (mental, physical, emotional, spiritual?)?

And what happens - God forbid - if we stop asking those questions?

That's the point of the show.  To ask questions and to respond to them.  Not to answer questions, for we live in a complex world that rarely has clear cut, black and white answers.

If you stop asking questions and responding to them, you fall in line with the unthinking and unblinking masses.  And before you know it you're voting for the Tea Party.

So stay curious and keep an open mind!
