Thanks to Nancy Devine's blog, I came across this story. Believe it or not, South Korea is seriously considering using robots to teach!
I guess that would settle the tenure debate and the pay for performance issue. But can a robot handle this?
Now obviously, the teacher has totally lost control. He is to blame for that. But his class isn't exactly hell-bent on learning (or even being remotely polite or respectful).
Would the robot be so engaging that interesting that the students wouldn't act like this? Or would the robot pull out a laser and hold them accountable?
So the question must be asked, is this the future of education?
Instead of the terminator, we'll have the educator.
