Are we rapidly becoming China?

Okay, that's a grand overstatement. But why would it be illegal to tape the police in action? Especially when you're the one getting pulled over?

Yes, it might put the police in a bad light, but is that a bad thing?

Same goes for some of the videos of poor teaching being leaked to youtube. Good. Shine that light on terrible practices and let the world know that we expect better.

But then the problem of context arises. Any ten seconds of video can be taken out of context and make a bad cop look good or a great teacher look bad.

But banning video taping the authorities just seems a like China-ish to me.
