More Rothko

During third block I tracked down the Anna Quindlin article from Newsweek on E Readers. To my delight, the cover story was on Steve Jobs' new creation, the iPad. Even better than that was this piece on my favorite artist, Mark Rothko.

I knew Rothko was eccentric. But wow. He refused to sell one or two to JFK's sister. He did sell one to David Rockefeller, though, for a measly $10,000 (hey, it was a Rothko! What a deal). He sold it - after it spending decades hanging in his office - to Sotheby's for a whopping $72.8 million (see, it was a great deal!).

Not bad for an hour's reading. Of course, if I only had an iPad I could have accessed it all on that!
