Unbelievable

Does anyone take Rush seriously anymore? My father loathed him and held him responsible for turning him away from the republican party after a lifetime of devotion.

I just can't think that anyone seriously believes his asinine remarks, but it seems to me he has no other kind.

Ever know the one loony tune (usually older - but not always) who rants and raves about conspiracies and lies and theories. Usually you see them ranting at a bar or over coffee at McDonald's or a local diner.

I often think the far, far left are ludicrous (Michael Moore is a fine example), and I often think the far, far right are pure evil.

Limbaugh and Robertson reaffirm my belief.

And Robertson? While Limbaugh's claims are pure evil, Robertson's seem to be completely misguided.

Here are some interesting soundbites from over the years.

It's just too bad we aren't studying The Crucible and the Salem witch trials or "The Lottery" because it is superstitious, Puritanical thinking like this that led to such carnage.

By claiming that Hati swore a pact with the devil and God just now cursed it with this disaster reminds me of Old Man Warner, from "The Lottery," telling the kids gathered for the lottery (where they randomly select one community member to stone to death) that "Lottery in June, corn ripe soon" as if its a fertility festival or something and that there is nothing but pure foolishness in giving it up.

Why doesn't he just come out and state that the Jews deserved the holocaust because they killed Christ? Maybe he already has. Who knows?

I think the video makes a good statement - the Bible is explicit in saying that humans cannot interpret God's will. Yet, Robertson and Fallwell and the authors behind the Left Behind series have made careers out of this.

I can't help but think how well Robertson would fit right in with Judge Danforth and Hathorne at Salem over 300 years ago twisting all kind of events into signs of the devil . . . and hanging innocent people left and right.
