And that's why they are called the Bungals.
Let's see . . . where to begin.
Marvin Lewis wastes two challenges on relatively meaningless plays. That robs the Bungals of two time outs before 10 minutes are gone in the game. Worse, it costs them all their challenges for the remaining 50 minutes.
Our once proud Pro Bowl quarterback plays worse than a rookie. Palmer missed most of last year with an elbow injury. Well, his arm has not been right for the last two months or so.
Our former Pro Bowl kicker, Shayne Graham, misses two relatively easy field goals: one from just 28 yards out. But he has choked in numerous game winning chances over the past few years. Remember, 2006 when all he had to do was hit a FG and the Bungals would beat the hated Steelers and make the playoffs. But he missed it.
Our offensive line - perhaps, one reason Palmer has never looked comfortable in the pocket this year - because it is in relative shambles and has not protected him very well over the past four or five years. When it counted, the Bengals could not protect their quarterback.
One of our best defenders, Jonathan Joseph, has given up some huge plays.
And injuries. Two weeks ago we lost our best linebacker, rookie Ray Maulauluga. His replacement broke his leg on the first play of the game.
Our lack of plays from the wide receiver position. Ochocinco is suddenly a very average receiver. Laverneous Coles played okay - despite his fumble on the first possession. But Andre Caldwell dropped every other pass. This unit is in need of a major overhaul.
Well, it's all but done.
There's nothing left to do but root against the Vikes!
