We're not doing anything important today are we?

I swear if I hear that one more time from a student, I'm going to storm the practice field or court (or their jobs) after school and pull them out to write an essay or analyze an essay.

Fair is fair, right?

Now - to be fair - most don't go there with that comment. Some do though. And it's infuriating.
