Great Video

I am planning on using this video (I confess that I stole it off of one of my favorite blogs, Nancy Devine, a fellow English teacher and one heckuva writer) in early October when I present early in October on using iPods and cell phones in class.

Love it. Now... where do I find this not on youtube so I can show it to my journalism students? Sigh...

Just convert it using zamzar.

Go to youtube and copy the url of that video (or whatever video you want to convert).

Then go to www.zamzar.com. They will give you four steps to follow.

Step #1 - select url and paste in the youtube url.

Step #2 - select what format you want to convert it to (mov).

Step #3 - enter your email (zamzar will email you the converted file).

Step #4 - click on convert.

It will take a few seconds but the youtube video will be converted to a movie file and emailed to you. Once you get it, click on it and save it to your computer. Then you can have a quicktime movie file that you can use on your school computer - all without having to worry about youtube being blocked.

We should have a PLC of English teachers in the area. You a bunch of us get together and talk about things that are really working for us. Deb Salberg does something like this with Science teachers. Thanks for the help!
