I read through dozens and dozens of drafts for our first descriptive essay. This one has stuck with me.
I think part of it is the great twist on the topic (it was the first time this year where I read something and thought, "I wish I would have thought of that!"). Part of it is just the great voice and style that ooze through the essay. Part of it is that it contains excellent description. Finally, part of it is just that it's damn fine writing. Sometimes that's all you need.

That was a fantastic essay! I don't think I will ever look at a pencil the same way again...mechanical or chewed up and laying on the ground.
