Blues

Poor Kristie. She hasn't felt very well during the pregnancy. On Saturday we helped Gail move some things into her new apartment. After that we worked up a hunger and headed over to Texas Roadhouse. All went well there. However, we decided to have our umpeenth "last hurrah" (we always say this prior to going to the Dairy Queen, for the ice cream will be our last hurrah before we give it up and go on a diet). However, the ice cream didn't sit well with Kristie.

Saturday night she didn't sleep much. Since the doctor recommended not sleeping on her stomach, she hasn't been getting much rest.

Sunday morning she decided to change around our bedroom. However, in helping out, she hurt a muscle in her back. After that she spent much of Sunday resting and trying to get caught up on the sleep she missed out on Saturday night.

Poor thing.

She told a friend, "You know it sure was a lot easier having babies at 18 and 21 than 35."

Kristie did feel better later in the afternoon. After supper we watched one of the bloodiest horror movies I have ever seen. And it was so unsuspected. For it was a musical of all things (Tim Burton's version of Sweeny Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street). It had to set a record for throat slashing.

Tuesday Kristie has a doctor's appointment. Hopefully, she will be able to take some Pepto to settle her stomach. I guess Sunday's trip to the DQ might really have been our last hurrah.

Here is the update from amazingpregnancy.com - only 173 days left until the due date. We have entered week 15. Too sooon to tell movement, but it won't be much longer (I swear I felt movement last night!). Hair is starting to form. The baby can actually suck his/her thumb (Man, I'm going to be sobbing when I think of that!). One can even view them doing this on ultrasounds, which, I believe, we are going to get on Tuesday. Wow. I'm glad I'm prepared for that.

Once school is out, I can't wait to get to work on getting the baby's room all ready. Then buying toys! Watch out!

One reason Kristie wanted to move the bedroom around was so that we could fit the bassonet in our room.

Kristie has six weeks leave. I have 8 days, but I'll make the most of them.

We have already started thinking about day care. There is an excellent facility in town, but they are booked until April. But we are on the waiting list now. Maybe we can entice Gail into moving to RLF for the baby's first six months to help out. A baby needs its grandmother (I can attest to that!).
