My Favorite Tree in Town

Roughly 12 blocks north of school is this monster. It and another oak dominate a corner lot. When I write of the oak in my thesis from my youth, I think of an oak like this one. Had I grown up here, this tree and I would have gotten to know each other very well. The limbs just beckon to be climbed. It was all I could do not to get out and start scrambling up. But grown men don't do such things. Play with Legos, yes. But climbing trees, no. Well, not this year anyway. Maybe next year.
