I take a lot of grief, especially from Casey, about my Legos obsession. I mean what 33 year old man spends hundreds of dollars on Legos sets? I do!
So I was overwhelmed to catch Casey and Kristie playing with some of KoKo's Legos!
Actually, I ordered her the latest Harry Potter set from Lego.com, but they sent me the wrong set (conveniently they sent me a set worth $20 instead of $120). But when I called, they let me keep the set they sent by mistake and sent the correct set out with priority two day shipping.
KoKo shares my love for Legos (and I know full well that she is 11 and should be interested in things like that). But it's how I recapture my childhood. And it's a great way for KoKo and I to spend time together. Though she likes to continually play with the Legos, and I like to put them together and then put them on display. Kristie still laughs about the time last fall when I came home from football and found KoKo and her friend, Rachel, playing with a Harry Potter Lego set I bought her. Under normal conditions, this wouldn't be a problem. However, they had also borrowed several pieces from an expensive Dracula Lego playset I had ordered for Halloween and had displayed on a window ledge. I began making sure they returned the Dracula pieces to the set. Well, sure enough, they couldn't find a wagon (on which Dracula's slave carries his coffin). So I began scolding them to find the wagon.
Kristie was home early and was upstairs getting ready when she heard this. "Geez Kurt, they're only kids! Let them play!" she yelled down. Well, the girls had a good laugh at me.
However, I quickly moved the Dracula set to my classroom where I could place it safely on a shelf above my computer.
